Like to get hands on? In the Orchard Marquee there was a wide range of workshops, demos, talks and tastings to tickle your tastebuds! Listed below are the 2013 workshops however watch this space for what’s coming up in 2014:
Saturday 2nd November
10.30 – 11.15 The Knack of the Knife** £3
Les Brown from Herefordshire College of Technology will be training you in the most important of culinary arts – knife skills. Improve your skills and expand your kitchen know-how to cook up a storm in your kitchen.

11.30 – 12.30 Knead A Little Help?** £5
Get hands on with Bread2Bake! Rob from Richard C Swifts Ltd will be demonstrating a variety of techniques including mixing, moulding and shaping and as part of the workshop you will get the chance to choose one of three breads to SOLD OUT!
13.45 – 14.45 Cock-a-Doodle Curry
Join Rayeesa as she takes you on a culinary journey and shows you how to cook a mouth-watering and authentic chicken curry.
15.00 – 15.45 Sustainable Chocolate
Join Cargill’s interactive workshop and delve into the wonderful world of chocolate to explore the journey from cocoa pod to chocolate product.
Sunday 3nd November
10.30 – 11.00 A Foraging Feast
Hazelnuts, wild garlic, elderflower fritters and giant puffballs are just a few of the many wild foods Sheila Spence will be discussing. Learn about identification and responsible picking of the many wild foods growing in our area, including recipes and preservation ideas.
11.15 – 12.15 Tempting Truffles** £3
Join the connoisseur of chocolate as he demonstrates the techniques behind chocolate making. From melting to tempering, Stuart from School of Choc will show you how to get the shiniest and smoothest chocolate treats! As an added bonus, you will get some tempting truffles to take away with you!

12.30 – 13.30 Chef George’s Chicken Surprise
Come and join Cargill’s Chef George as he demonstrates healthy and tasty ways to serve up chicken for your family.
13.45 – 14.45 The Perfect Pair – Cheese & Cider** £10
Tempt your taste buds with Tom from Oliver’s and Mark from Monkland Cheese Dairy as they teach you how to make the perfect snack. Tasters and nibbles a-plenty at this delicious workshop!

15.00 – 16.00 Flavours of Herefordshire Awards Young Chef in Training
Just starting on their food careers, these enthusiastic youngsters are bursting with ideas and innovation. Come and share their delight as they cook up a storm just for you.
